Concrete Work Across Ocoee
Ocoee is a growing west Orange County city, and much of the demand for concrete contractors in Ocoee comes from homes built during that growth. The city counted 24,391 residents in 2000, 35,579 in 2010 and 47,295 in 2020. It incorporated as a town in 1923 and became a city in 1925. We pour and replace driveways, patios, walks and pool decks and repair concrete that has cracked or settled.
Starke Lake and early history
Ocoee traces back to the mid-1850s, when Dr. J. D. Starke led a group to the north shore of a clear, pine-wooded lake that now bears his name, and the settlement grew from that camp. The name Ocoee comes from a Cherokee word meaning "apricot vine place." Bluford Sims pioneered budding wild orange trees here, and his nursery supplied many Florida groves.
The city's history also includes the Ocoee Massacre of November 2, 1920, when a mob attacked the Black community after July Perry and Mose Norman tried to vote. In 2018 the city commission issued a proclamation acknowledging the massacre.
Lakes and drainage
Wikipedia puts Ocoee's area at about 15.7 square miles, with roughly 1 square mile of water. Homes near Starke Lake and the city's other lakes sit on lots that slope toward the water. That is good for drainage if a patio or deck is graded to send water into the yard, and bad if water runs toward the house. On every job we set the slope first and keep washout and debris on site so nothing reaches the lake.
Newer homes, bigger plans
Most Ocoee homes were built in the last few decades, and many owners want to expand the concrete their builder poured. Typical projects include patio additions, pool deck extensions, wider driveways and side walks to gates and sheds. Many of these subdivisions have HOAs with rules on materials and colors, and we design within them.
Owners of homes from the 1990s and 2000s are also starting to replace concrete: driveways with cracked aprons, patios that have settled toward the house and pool decks with worn coatings. We explain whether section repair or full replacement is the better fit.
Weather here
West Orange County averages about 51 inches of rain a year, with strong afternoon storms nearly every day in summer. We plan early pours and protect fresh concrete from sudden rain.

Ocoee Questions
Can you add a patio to my Ocoee home?
Yes. We plan the size and slope to fit your yard and any HOA rules, and tie it to existing concrete where needed.
My driveway apron is cracked. Do I need to replace the whole drive?
Not always. If the rest of the driveway is sound, replacing the apron and any failed panels may be enough.
Who issues permits in Ocoee?
The City of Ocoee handles work in its right-of-way. We check what your project needs before scheduling.
Should I seal my new concrete?
Sealing is optional on plain broom-finish concrete but helps decorative and stamped finishes keep their color and resist stains. We explain the trade-offs and the upkeep before you decide.
Can you match my builder's driveway finish?
We match broom direction and joint layout closely. New concrete starts lighter in color and blends in over time.
